$1,200 Raised for the Building Bears and Spreading Cares Foundation

October 13th, 2011 · No Comments

I hate to admit this but last year we didn’t make a post of our commitment to helping kids.  Don’t be alarmed, we have made some kids very happy – we just didn’t put up a post about it.

Here is what we have done this year so far:

Building Bears and Spreading Cares

Well Here is where Terry Wygal is presenting a $1,200 Check to Matt and his Building Bears and Spreading Cares Foundation.

The money was raised at the Blue Print To Financial Freedom 4 Workshop in Houston Texas

Matt has always been a Huge Contributor to the kids in the area and here is his story and why we chose to help:

In 2005 Matt and Taylor decided that after a really good year, they wanted to share their good fortune for that year. With that in mind, they went to Build-A-Bear and made 24 bears and donated them to the Shriner’s Hospital in Houston. This was an attempt to show that good things can come from bad situations – and to show the children in the hospital that people were still thinking of them, even during the holidays! In 2006, Matt began asking people in the fire department to see if anyone else would be willing to help with this project, as money was tight and he knew he would not be able to do it alone. His hope was to raise money to provide 40 bears which would place a bear on every bed in the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. In an amazing turn of events, he was able to provide 132 bears that year with everyone’s help! In 2007, 2008, and 2009 those numbers have increased greatly. It has been incredible watching the bears pile up and not only taken to the local hospitals but shipped all over the country now!!! Although I was sick and in the hospital during Christmas last year and unable to help with a lot of the bears, we were still able to collect an amazing 207 and send them to 6 hospitals. To date, we have donated over 1,200 bears!! I know that this year we can do even better! Our goal is to provide a bear for every pediatric bed in every Shriner’s Hospital, MD Anderson, and local hospitals’ pediatric wings.

We use $10 Build-A-Bear bears only so that every child receives a good quality bear and so no one feels as if they received something different than someone else in that same hospital. Because we are able to purchase so many bears at once, we are able to receive a discount from the Build-A-Bear corporate office, which allows everyone’s $10 donation to go further! We take some donations and take a group of children from the Masonic Lodge and allow them to build the bears and know that their hard work goes towards making some injured or sick child happy on Christmas! The remaining donations, we send to the corporate office and have mass quantities of bears shipped to the house so that we can divide and distribute them to the hospitals.

It is that time of year again, where we are asking people to send their donations for bears. We are currently working on our Non-Profit Organization documentation and hope to be established before next Christmas. We are also looking into a second event each year for a different holiday so that we can do more for these children in the hospitals! We have several ways you can donate if you are interested:

- cash / check / money order for bears can be given to myself or Matt anytime between now and December 12, 2010.
- mail cash / check / money order for bears here to the house at 4807 Quailgate Drive, Spring, TX 77373
- make a donation via my paypal account: ashleyldupre@yahoo.com or Matt’s paypal account: mrd5911d@yahoo.com (but Paypal does charge for us to receive a payment, so the donation would be less than actually sent)

- whether you plan to give us money, mail it, or send it on paypal please let us know so that we can track all donations and count up the bears that we will be donating this year!!! We will keep everyone updated on the number that we have for this year so that everyone can see us reaching our goal!!!

Hopefully by this time next year, we will have a separate account for the bears established!!!

If you have any questions, please let us know! We look forward to working with everyone in collecting bears this year to make the kiddos in the hospital a little happier on Christmas! After spending last Christmas in the hospital, I understand what they are going through… let’s make it the best Christmas possible – even while they’re in the hospital!

357 Bears were raised!

December 8th, 2008 · No Comments

I wanted to start this brief letter off by saying Thank YOU so much.

Terry Wygal and MattLast year Matt was able to collect 297 Teddy Bears for kids at the local Charity Hospitals from around our area.  In a little less than a week YOU were a big part in providing enough Donations to give him 358 Bears for these kids.

Matt was a little overwhelmed I have to tell you and you certainly know what that means for the kids.

The Galveston Hospital is shut down right now due to Hurricane Ike – so it looks like we will send a part of the money to the Shriner’s Hospital in Boston.

Thanks so much for all You Do!

Can You Help One Child This Christmas?

November 26th, 2008 · No Comments

Each year a very special guy from the Atascocita Fire Department pulls together all the members of the department and asks for any possible donations for his Give A Bear program.

Coco Teddy BearsMatthew Dupre’, a Paramedic and fellow Cajun :-) looks for help in giving Teddy Bears to the local

Shriners Hospitals,

“Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.

Children up to the age of 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment at no charge – regardless of financial need.”

The Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital,

“TSRHC treats Texas children with orthopedic conditions, such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders and limb length differences, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia.”

and

MD Anderson Cancer Hospital for Children

“At the Children’s Cancer Hospital at M. D. Anderson, everything we do is focused on one thing: helping kids beat cancer.”

The story behind these hospitals for children is simple – They Help Families and Children Regardless Of Their Financial Status or Ability to Pay.

That is right – it does not matter if the kids don’t have a dime to pay – they take care of it.

In Fact – They do not even have a billing department!

They rely deeply on the help and contributions of people like us and this year I am calling on my family, friends and You to do what you can to help these children enjoy Christmas – or just to give them a little comfort.Coco Teddy Bears

The original idea of Develop Your Wings, when it popped into my head at Claim Your Power Now, was remembering what Matt does for these children – and I hope you will assist as well.

Make a kid’s year – help give some Teddy Bears – And Some Smiles :-)

Last year Build A Bear donated 36 Bears – I want to match – and Exceed – their Donations.

Here is what I am asking – ANYthing you can donate – is valued – Each Bear costs -$10 to build – Build A Bear is donating 10%, which about covers the tax – so that means:

If you give $10 – You give 1 Bear and 100’s of smiles

If you give $50 – you give 5 bears – many thousands of smiles and laughter’s and Joy.

If you give $100 – That is 10 Bears – 10 Kid’s – 10 Families – Ten Sets Of Grandparents, the nurses and doctors all will remember you and the incredible act of kindness you have bestowed on us.

And remember – if it is just $1 or $5 – ALL of the above will remain true – because it comes from your Heart…

If you wish to give a kid a smile – and a Teddy Bear – you can paypal directly to twygal@gmail.com

Or if mailing something in is easier – just let me know.

That Is all there is to it.

And here is what I will do for all of those who donate,

I recently conducted an interview with Carrie Wilkerson, The Barefoot Executive and Perry  Lawrence, of Ask Mr. Video.  This was a closed door interview with just the 3 of us and I am going to make that recording available to you just because you have been so generous to us.

You get access to the Video recording immediately, and as soon as I can get Wilmer to upload the transcripts – you will be sent those as well.

Now This is easily a $39.95 value – in my honest opinion it is more like Priceless because of some of the little tips and systems that we disclosed – But I know you don’t want to hear that – but when it makes you $1,000′s you will thank me even more. :-)

We covered topics that included:

  • List Building

  • Using Video to Generate Leads and Raving Fans
  • Using Video to Dominate The Front Page of Google
  • and a whole slew of information designed to Create You Money and Build Your List.

What do you need to do from here?

Simple – Donate what you can – this is an interview that Anyone in Any Industry needs to hear – but also think of the smiles you will put on a Childs face this Christmas..

Dr. Mani’s Childrens Heart Foundation

November 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Dr. Mani Children Heart FoundationAt the recent Internet Marketing Seminar -
The Blueprint To Financial Freedom

I had the pleasure of announcing to the audience that
we were providing a $2,000 donation
to Dr. Mani’s Childrens Heart Foundation.

I have to tell you that out of all the praises for the training and
the quality of the speakers none were as sweet as the reaction from
the members of the audience when when I informed them of our plans.

It is the excitement and the passion to know that somewhere across the
country a child will be helped, a charity that one man has dedicated his
life to supporting, and that I might be a small part of it.

It is very difficult as the father of 3 to even imagine not being able
to obtain help as freely as we do here in the U.S.

Thanks to Dr. Mani’s drive, and Dedication my decision was an easy
one to make :-)

Dr. Mani recently held a Tweet-A-Thon and that is were I first was introduced to his mission to save childrens lives, though his expertise in the field of Internet Marketing is well known.

Where it started, Vic and Lisa Johnson and Orrin Hudson

November 19th, 2008 · No Comments

Where did Develop Your Wings Come From? Great Question and I have to tell you – it all started where most Great Things come from – The Heart. I was at an incredible Personal Development event where I was asked to give a presentation for Vic and Lisa Johnson’s Claim Your Power Now Seminar. While I was there I heard a man speak for the Terry Wygal with Vic and Lisa Johnsonfirst time and it made an Immediate Impact on me.The man speaking was Orrin Hudson from www.BeSomeone.orgOrrin Hatch

The Impact was immediate and life changing for me.

Shortly after that I met Yanik Silver at his Underground Seminar and through there many others at the Maverick Business Adventures.  Through those meeting’s lead me to meet Michael Filsaime, Joe Barton, Tim Warren,  Frank McKinney, David Frey and a host of others who have allowed me to Develop My Own Wings and for that I will be forever grateful.

Terry Wygal
